Aurora Aksnes is a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. Her birthplace was in Stavanger on June 15, 1996. She is professionally referred to as Aurora. The name of her can be also stylized by the name AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 receiving rave reviews from both music bloggers as well as from the press. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are just two of the artist's high-profile recordings. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft, and becoming fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to pursue music solely for fun or to aid in development but instead, she should explore it. She started writing her own songs. Her influences include renowned writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her affinity with Bjork's style. She began performing her songs publicly when her mother said they might help others not gain acclaim for her music, but rather to help people see around them realize their importance and the ways they can affect the world. The piano was her first instrument at the age of six, and began making music when she was 9 years old. They didn't even know until the age of 14. It was never a dream to become Aurora. As she says, she simply likes to write songs. According to her, she believes that music can help people feel more relaxed.
